Hi — I’m Joseph, a Data Engineer living in Colorado Springs. A few years ago, I watched my own HOA board struggle with the same problems I’m guessing you’re dealing with right now.
Our treasurer was tracking dues in a spreadsheet that lived on her personal laptop. When she moved, we had to reconstruct months of records. Our president was driving to the bank twice a month to deposit checks. ARC requests were emailed around in endless reply-all chains.
I looked for software to help. What I found was either too expensive ($150–300/month for communities our size) or too complicated — designed for professional management companies, not for volunteer boards.
There has to be a simpler way. So I built it.
KindHOA started as a side project for my own community. As I showed it to friends and neighbours in other HOAs, they asked if they could use it too. That’s when I realised this wasn’t just my problem — it was a problem affecting thousands of volunteer-run communities.
Today, KindHOA is my mission: to give every self-managed HOA access to simple, affordable, and honest tools. No hidden fees. No complicated contracts. No corporate jargon.
